Furniture manufacturer Featherlite on Wednesday said it would open Featherlite Living outlets in Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore shortly, besides commissioning a production facility for wood working and sheet metal in Chennai in a couple of months.
Inaugurating a 5,500-sq. ft. Featherlite Living showroom here, company Director Lav Jawahar said it planned to increase its turnover to Rs.500 crore by the end of 2015 from the existing Rs.250 crore.
He said the company would continue to expand its presence across the country. The company had now 30 Featherlite and six Featherlite Living outlets in different parts of the country.
At present, the company had a manufacturing facility in Bangalore for wood working and sheet metal production, he said.
With almost 25 per cent growth in demand for office furniture last year and a similar growth expected this year, office furniture would be a focus segment for the company. Apart from information technology companies, educational institutions were a major sector that it catered to. Featherlite also had products for small offices.
The company entered the living room furniture segment about a year ago and imported furniture and accessories from Spain, Malaysia, Thailand and China.
